About The Playground
The Playground Theatre Co. (est. 2022) is a Chelmsford-based community theatre group dedicated to providing a wide variety of programming, mounting original shows by local playwrights, as well as established works. The Playground encourages local actors from Chelmsford and surrounding towns to share their talents on the CCA stage.

We are beyond excited to officially announce the first show in our 2025-2026 season:
Family Album, written by Eloise Hoffman and Directed by Donna DeWitt.
Family Album is a one-act comedy set at a New Hampshire cottage, where several generations of a family spend their hilariously chaotic summers over the span of many decades. With antics ranging from mice invasions to movie-making and game nights gone wrong, this original play promises plenty of laughs. Don’t miss out on the fun — or the answer to the question,
“is a mattress a piece of furniture?”

Family Album Auditions
Calling all local actors! We are holding auditions for the first show of our 2025-2026 season, Family Album, directed by Donna DeWitt.
Performances will take place on November 7th and 8th at 7:30 pm, and November 9th at 2:00 pm in the Chelmsford Center for the Arts auditorium.
AUDITION DATES: Sunday, August 24 at 12:00 pm and Monday, August 25 at 6:30pm at the CCA. Additional callbacks, if needed, will take place on Wednesday, August 27 at 6:30pm by invitation only.
PLEASE NOTE: We are primarily seeking adult (18+) actors. Some child roles are open for young actors under 18, as well as for adult actors. Young actors will ONLY be considered for the select number of age appropriate roles/scenes. Casting is not guaranteed.
