SEEKING: ORIGINAL SHORT PLAYS FOR OUR
2026 TEN-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL!

The Playground theater co. is beyond excited to present our fourth annual Ten-Minute Play Festival at the Chelmsford Center for the Arts –  a celebration of playwrights from New England and beyond, directed and performed by local Massachusetts talent.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

Due to an overwhelming number of responses over the first 24 hours of submission, we have determined it best to move up the deadline for submittals to Friday, February 13th  8:00 pm. If you plan to enter your work and have not already done so, we recommend submitting as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

The Playground Theatre Co.

2026 SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Submissions must be no longer than ten minutes in length.

  • Only one submission is allowed per playwright at this time.

  • Playwrights acknowledge that if their piece is selected they will receive the following:

    • Promotional Credit in all programs and online listings related to the show, as well as any production photos or videos taken of their play for personal or professional use

  • Playwrights acknowledge that as this is a community theater festival, they will not receive financial compensation if their piece is selected.

  •  To be considered, plays must have not been produced professionally prior to submission, nor should they have been frequently produced on a community theater level in the New England area. This is to ensure fairness and that we are giving new plays the opportunity to be showcased!

Additional guidelines and recommendations can be found in the play submission form.

Submissions close on February 13th at 8:00 pm.

Any plays submitted after that deadline may not be considered.

PLEASE NOTE:

The Playground Theatre Co. reserves the right to close submissions early if we receive an overwhelming number of submittals. If you plan to submit, we recommend you do so as soon as possible to ensure your work is received. Thank you in advance!
